Get Your Web Design For Free!

Designing a website can be hard work. You need to know HTML and CSS, and other internet codes. Or you have to pay someone to do it for you. If you're on a hosting site that offers templates, you find that the web design is often stale and static - there's not much room for flexibility or creating the web site you really want to see. This is where being involved with an Open Source community can be highly beneficial to you.

Using Open Source for Design and Functionality Purposes

The Open Source model began with programmers and has been successful for and applied in media, education, government, and private business web sites. It's a collaborative development, and offers you a great way to incorporate new ideas and the latest concepts into your website's design.

With open source software, you can design your own graphics, CSS and HTML while relying on templates and code resources. And it's all for free!

Your Open Source Options

1. Basic CSS Layouts - this is great if you want the freedom to create an original design, but need help setting up a basic layout. Using an open source CSS template, gives you a clean slate for you to incorporate and build your design, graphics and text into.

2. Complete Web Design - downloading this type of software offers you a complete template that requires minimal tweaking. You not only get CSS, but HTML and some graphic files to help you put up your web site fast.

3. Open Source Design Programs - instead of paying for software like Front Page, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, you can download programs that do the exact same work for you (and sometimes more) for the price of $0.00. Some programs are only usable with Linux systems (Cssed and Bluefish), while others are good for all systems (Nvu, Quanta Plus, GIMPShop, Inkscape).

Using Open Source models for your website is a great route to go - whether you already know what you're doing in web design and just need a little help, or if you're completely new to it.

Web Design Communication

Your website says a lot, in fact it says everything. So make sure it is really saying what you want it to say. Your website speaks directly to your current customer and to potential investors and consumers. So, you need to know how to effectively communicate with your web designer, even if it's just you!

You Are Designing Your Site

If you have the necessary skills to design a fantastic website, good for you! You may have no communication problems...or you may have too many. One of the most difficult things to do when running your own business is remove yourself and look at something objectively. You put all of the effort and hours into your business, and the same goes for your website. You may think it looks great. But will your customer?

There are two main problems in designing your own website: it may look amateurish and there may be one too many errors. So, to get past this, go to your favorite websites. Why do you like these sites so much? Are they full of high quality pictures? Is it easy to navigate? Is the information right where you need it to be? Finally, is the overall look professional?

Communicating With Your Web Designer

You know what you want, now get it. Only you can tell your designer what you want. If they don't want to listen, find a different designer. More than likely you chose them because they have a strong portfolio and you want your design to reflect that. If you aren't quite getting what you want, don't be afraid to tell them. Remember though, just like you might be emotionally tied to your work, your designer might be too. So communicate tactfully.

Hire a Professional For Web Design

There are many aspects of your business you can tackle yourself even if you do not have a working knowledge of them when you get started. It is in these areas you can learn and develop skills quickly so that you can start making money. Web design is not often one of those areas. If you have the skill to do so, by all means go for it. If not, you may want to consider hiring a professional for your web design needs.

When it comes to hiring someone to manage your web design, there are a few things to keep in mind. For example, you likely want to ensure that the company has the skills and experience to handle the tasks you would like. Let them know what you want. You also want to ensure that the company has the time to do the work. If they have ten other projects they are working on, your project is last in line, in most cases.

When consider web design options, keep your options open. You may be able to hire someone that does not have the same level of skill and experience and they still give you fantastic quality. The key is to know where to draw the line. Use past work experience as an indication of what they can do for you. Be sure to use a contract, too, to help ensure that the website they design for you is top quality.

Hiring a professional to handle your web design is a good idea, especially if you are hoping for a profitable start quickly.

Create a Website Simply and Easily

Countless numbers of online sites are in existence now, fulfilling numerous functions. A lot of individuals opt to create a website to debut a company, publish blogs, or offer web surfers instruction or entertainment. Regardless of your intent, designing an online site is enjoyable and effortless!

To create a website, initially you have to do some brainstorming. Determine the intention of your online site, as well as your intended viewers, since certain website concepts might be aimed at a really specific demographic. Being aware of all of this will go a long way toward making it easy to create your website.

The next step is determining how much time and money, if any money at all, you want to invest into your website. You can opt to create a free website, and this is the best option for those looking to start a website just for fun. If you are trying to make money off of your website, whether through advertising or by providing a good or service, you may want to invest some more money in it.

Moreover, in case you are building a web site for the purpose of launching an online business, remember that these take a considerable amount of time. In case you are setting up a content web site merely for your pleasure, it will need only occasional maintenance.

Before you start up a website make sure you have planned exactly what you want to do with it. Then you can choose a domain name and host. If your website is an online business, then consider paying for a name that is suitable for your product. Once you have done this, you will want to create your website. A number of hosts have programs that you can use that will create your website for you, which is ideal especially if you are creating a website for fun.

If you are trying to make money and are going for a more professional type webpage, you may need to start a webpage from scratch. This will mean learning some of the programming language like HTML. You will be able to create a specific type of design for it since its one of the easiest programming languages to learn. You can update your site yourself instead of needing to hire someone to do it if you become familiar enough with HTML.

At last, you can upload your internet site and check whether it's working properly. Get some acquaintances and/or relatives to do a trial run, so you know whether you have any problems that need fixing. If it's meant to be a marketing site, put it on the popular search engines and get its URL out there as much as possible. Using this guidance you should be prepared to start up a well functioning internet site. I wish you much success in your great new adventure!

If you wish to create a website that has a more professional feel, more so for those who are trying to launch a business online, you might wish to build a web page from scratch. If you cannot afford to hire a person to create it for you, this will involve learning some programming language like HTML, which may be the easiest programming language to pick up. With it, you can assemble a truly specific design. Moreover, once you've got a fundamental comprehension of HTML, you can update and maintain the site on your own instead of paying others to do it.

Doodles & Design - Is That the Key For Web Design?

All those cute little doodles and colorful designs are great, but is that what makes your web design successful? Just ask any of those that spent hours on the design of their website or hundreds of dollars to have a spruced up site? They will quickly tell you that the designs and special little art work is not the only reason for the success of the site, in fact many of these business owners had to learn it the hard way. Looking great is important and a site must be aesthetically pleasing, but it must also incorporate tools and other facts that bring people to the site. Without a good marketing campaign the site can be as colorful and pretty as possible, but without traffic and revenue it won't stay that way long.

A web design should be one that looks good and draws visitors, but also has internet marketing campaigns built in. A well designed site is one where the visitor, customer or prospect is unaware of the fact that they are even being marketed too. The keyword rich articles and other pay per click advertising that may have landed them on the site is soon forgotten when their attention is drawn by another part of the site. Keeping the attention of the visitor and ensuring that their interest is peaked is the most important part of any advertising plan.

So to sum it up a web design should be one that is catchy, and maybe even those fancy little doodles as well as designs. Just make sure that the marketing is also well carried out and the site will succeed much faster!

It is Not So Hard to Build Your First Website

You may think building a website is a complicated process, but it really is not. There are many guides to help you design and get your website up and running. Once you have it all set up and get a look at your new website, you will be surprised at how much you have learned. Just follow a few basic steps outlined here and you will be the proud owner of a website shortly.

The First Steps

The first thing you should do is decide how you want your website to look. Naturally you will want to pick a theme that is relevant to the service or product you are selling. The features it contains will be another thing you will need to think about and it will help to write this down. Use the following to help you figure out the features.

1) The way your website is laid out is very important. It needs to be easy to navigate which will encourage traffic rather than cause them to click out of your site as fast as they can. If you need help with this there are very good programs online that will show you what the options are for setting up your site. They will explain how to insert text and clipart as well as putting in your information via a text editor or visual editor.

2) What keywords will you use? Think about what you would use if you were searching for your product. There are all types of variations of keywords that may be relevant to your site. Even a misspelled word can be a keyword. People often misspell words and if it will lead them to your site, well that is great.

3) What will the text contain? This is important to explain to prospective customers what you are selling and what they are to expect. If you have memberships available this needs to be explained. Everything pertaining to your site needs to be discussed here so people will know what to expect.

Once you have decided on these aspects, you will be ready to start setting up the website. A web hosting company will have to be chosen to host your site once it is set up. There are many that have good rates. The free ones are not as popular as some of the others because they often have advertisements which consistently promote their web hosting.

Make sure you choose the right size space for your website when it comes to web hosting. The disk space available to you from the web hosting site has to be enough to accommodate your site. Do they have a monthly traffic requirement?

You will have to choose a domain name if you have not already chosen one. Checking on it and making sure it does not belong to someone else is very important. There are online resources for doing this. The domain names are renewable every year for a small fee. You can also get a domain name through most web hosting companies.

Setting up your pages will be easy. Most hosting companies have a tutorial to guide you through the process. The rest is easy. All you have to do is publish your website for it to go live. Many hosting sites have a traffic generator for a very small fee which will get your site out to all the major search engines. Now just wait for the traffic to start flowing to your website.

Simple Website Building Training For Effective Fast Home Business Websites

It is a complete myth that you need advanced technical knowledge to build effective websites.

If you are reading this, then you must be a computer user, and the chances are you are a regular computer user with a working knowledge of how to use a number of programmes. Word Processing, spreadsheets, maybe PowerPoint, obviously the Internet, email? In this article I am going to explain why your existing technical knowledge is all you need to build websites. I will show you how with simple website building training can result in you being able to build effective websites easily and quickly.

For most people building an online business a web presence is essential. It is true that you can easily develop blog pages, and maybe the business program you are following provides you with a purpose built website. But if you are developing a number of income streams then the chances are that the ability to quickly create and publish your own purpose designed website will be a valuable asset. My own experience is that I could never find a website building tool that did everything I wanted it to do. They each seem to offer differing functionalities, and despite spending a fair amount of time looking, I could not find one that did the job.

Some of my sites are a single page, others are minisites of around 20 - 25 pages and my main site is becoming huge. I built all of these sites with no software engineering background. The truth is you don't need years at college to learn how to do it. It is true that I had no one to show me how to do many of the simple tasks I needed to be able to do. I had to spend many hours on the internet researching how to do them. But once I knew how I was amazed at how simple it all is

The other thing that amazed me is that the software I need is completely free. I did not have to splash out hundreds of pounds to by DreamWeaver. I use Kompozer - completely free under Open Source. Similarly, I use the FileZilla FTP program to upload my websites to my web hosting service. And I also discovered that I can produce great graphics using my word processor. I can manipulate images, background colours and text to create web page header graphics and advertising banners. Easy! I also discovered how easy - and free - it is to use professional web designs and get great content. With a very basic knowledge and my existing expertise I can create a 20 page content rich website in about two hours.

What is Web 2-0?

Web 2.0 refers to the newer, more interconnected, interactive methods of advertising and using the internet. There are so many different new tools, including social networks like MySpace and Facebook, and even new marketing tools such as blogs and informal message board forums. All Web 2.0 really stands for is "new and improved internet." Oddly, none of these applications, tools, or capabilities are really new. They've been around since the internet was first established. This is just the first time people have found them and decided to utilize them; it took people a minute to catch up to the technology. In the past, a website was the destination in an internet search. Now, the website is part of the journey, and the destination is whatever you want it to be.

Sites now have links, multiple pages, and other things that make them more dynamic, interactive, and ultimately a two-way street for internet users. You can connect with your users on a much more personal level, and provide a level of feedback and interactivity that has never before been offered. The internet keeps growing and changing everyday; the websites need to follow suit, and now they have begun to. If a website is going to be successful, it needs to employ the tools of web 2.0 and viral marketing, including: telling stories, attaching emotion to blogs, messages, and advertising, letting everyone in, and providing old information in a new, unexpected way.

Viral marketing is becoming increasingly popular, and it will only be a matter of time before it is more popular than traditional marketing methods. With so many different ways to market a business, adding to the mix is just making more decisions and confusion for some people. However, if you take the time to research what's available you might feel a little less overwhelmed and be able to relate to people on a new level that will help your business grow and thrive in ways you never expected. The marketing of web 2.0 focuses on attaching emotion to advertising, so that people feel they can relate. It also employs the use of one-on-one connections with people to make them feel more special.

The internet is popular because it's fast, and because it has so much to offer. With everything around us constantly changing, why should the internet be left behind? It's not getting faster, but it is growing in what it can offer, and how dynamic the services it provides can be.

Website Design For Your Business

One of the most integral aspects of a successful business these days is a well designed website. In a constantly expanding cyberworld full of competing services, the choices available to customers are endless. It can seem like a daunting task to differentiate your business on the web, but having a properly designed website will give you a great advantage over your competition.

What makes a web site great? There are many criteria to consider. The most important aspect is that your services can be clearly identified, and this is accomplished through thoughtful logo design, concise information as well as a "business appropriate feeling". For example, an owner of a small children's toy store would not wish to use the same serious, more grown up corporate layout on their website that a law firm may use, instead opting for fun fonts and a more playful mood overall. Typographical selection can make a world of difference in the message sent to the target customer, and careful selection can insure that a casual viewer of your page gets a feel for the type of service you offer. Color, pictures, flash and other animations will greatly contribute to your site's overall feeling.

No mater what style you choose to present your business in, it is vital that you appear professional and exhibit expertise in your field. Clean, readable text is always preferred to jumbled paragraphs and large sprawling pages, which often times give off an "amateur" feel. A properly designed page will have working identifiable hyperlinks, easily locatable menus and quickly displaying pictures/content. The speed at which a page loads directly correlated to how long a visitor stays, in that slowly loading websites have a much higher click-off rate than do fast loading ones, so it is smart to always make sure that you can fully access every page and photos within a few seconds of initially clicking. Another attractive feature to include is dynamic and updated content. Updates will give customers an incentive to view your site more often, as a stagnant page offers little value to previous viewers.

Everyone who has browsed the internet has at one point or another has ignored a website's content because of its poor design. With a well thought out blueprint executed by qualified professionals, this need not be the fate of your page. The smartest and most profitable business decision you make could be enlisting the help of website design, internet marketing experts, such as Cybertrack Marketing Inc, who have all the tools and experience necessary to give you a major edge over the competition.
